Most retail stores and restaurants will be open, though some places may have limited hours.
Here is a list of some key places and their status for Tuesday. When in doubt, call ahead. Also, if you're headed to Canada, it's a holiday there as well, so check in advance on your destinations.

Whatcom County library branches: Closed.
Bellingham Public Libraries: Closed.
Bellingham parking meters: Not enforced.
Banks: Most are closed; call ahead to confirm.
U.S. Postal Service: Closed, no mail delivery.
Garbage: Regular pickup schedule for SSC and Nooksack Valley Disposal, but trucks likely will be earlier than usual. SSC offices and recycling center open regular hours.
WTA buses: Running on regular schedules.
The Bellingham Herald: Offices open, regular newspaper delivery.
Movie theaters: Open.
Grocery stores: Most have regular hours.
Bellis Fair: Open.
Cascade Amublance Service: Operating.
Public Schools: Closed.
Whatcom Community College: Closed.
