Several roads from Lummi Reservation into downtown Bellingham will be closed partially or completely Sunday, Sept. 28, to make way for Bellingham Bay Marathon runners.
Lummi View Drive, Lummi Shore Road, Kwina Road, Slater Road, Ferndale Road and Marine Drive all will have traffic limitations in the morning.
Runners will then head onto Alderwood Avenue, Airport Drive, Bennett Drive and Cottonwood Avenue before heading into downtown via Railroad Avenue.
Expect full closures on sections of these downtown-area streets: Railroad, East Maple, Wharf, East Laurel, Boulevard, Eldridge, Seaview, Cottonwood, Roeder and West Chestnut.

Other downtown streets are likely to have short closures as runners go through.
Drivers may experience extensive delays on affected roads as authorities block roads to keep runners safe.
