A second hearing on new rules for weddings and other special events will enable the public to weigh more- and less-restrictive alternatives.
The rules would apply to money-making events held on private properties in unincorporated Whatcom County. The rules for such events aren’t clear in existing county code.
The two options now before the county Planning Commission include a more flexible proposal, and an option with stricter limits on camping, number of events per year and crowd size.
Commissioners will take comments at a hearing at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at the Northwest Annex, 5280 Northwest Drive. This follows a hearing held Aug. 14.
