Canadian injured in North Cascades Highway crash

A Canadian man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after crashing his motorcycle into a car parked on the side of the North Cascades Highway Sunday afternoon, July 24, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Daniel C. Anderson, 46, was riding his Harley Davidson west on the highway near Newhalem at about 3 p.m.when he went off the road, hitting a Subaru Impreza that was parked on the shoulder.

Anderson, a resident of Surrey, B.C., was in critical condition in the intensive care unit at Harborview Monday morning, according to a hospital spokeswoman. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Troopers don’t suspect that drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash, and they’re investigating the cause.
