Whatcom County Sheriff’s deputies are seeking a suspect who entered a home Tuesday evening, March 9, at gunpoint in the 1100 block of East Pole Road in an attempted robbery.
No one was injured, and no items are believed to have been stolen, Sgt. Kevin Hester said. Hester said just before 6 p.m. the man forced his way into the home by pointing a handgun at two juveniles who were inside.
The man forced the juveniles, both girls, into a bathroom and began going through the house looking for things to steal.
As he was doing this, family members returned to the home, causing him to flee, Hester said.

The man fled westbound on Pole Road in an early 1990s silver or gray four-door Honda, Hester said. He’s described as a Hispanic man, in his late teens or early 20s, standing about 5-feet, 6-inches tall and weighing 160 to 170 pounds, Hester said.
He was wearing a dark blue sweatshirt, dark blue jeans and a black ski mask, Hester said. The home has been burglarized twice in the last six months, he said.
