Bellingham Police are looking for the driver of a vehicle that collided with two cars downtown Thursday night, but they have one one solid piece of evidence in the alleged hit-run – a license plate.
Police Lt. Don Almer said the suspect’s vehicle ran a red light and hit two cars at Chestnut and State streets about 10:10 p.m.
“One victim vehicle had been traveling south on North State Street, legally crossing the intersection at East Chestnut Street,” Almer said. “The suspect vehicle collided with the passenger side of the victim vehicle and drove off without attempting to stop or exchange information.”
Almer said a second driver’s car was hit. The suspect drove away east on East Chestnut Street.
