A skateboarder suffered serious injuries early Sunday when he went through a red light and collided with a car in the Roosevelt neighborhood, police said.
Police Lt. Don Almer said Monday the injured man, who wasn’t named, was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph hospital and was being prepped for a flight to Harborview Medical Center.
“The pedestrian had been rolling through the intersection on a longboard, against a red traffic signal and not in a crosswalk,” Almer said.
He said an investigation is continuing into the incident, which occurred about 12:45 a.m. Sunday as the driver of the car was westbound on Alabama Street at Orleans Street and collied with the skater in the intersection.
