A single-wide mobile home was destroyed in a fire at a Birch Bay mobile home park Friday morning, officials said.

Fire was reported about 6 a.m. at Birch Bay Leisure Park, 7704 Birch Bay Drive, said Division Chief Henry Hollander of North Whatcom Fire and Rescue. He said no one was home and no injuries were reported.

“It burned to the ground,” Hollander said. “It appeared to be unoccupied. There was minor cosmetic damage to two neighboring trailers.”

Hollander said the owner lived in Canada. Cause of the fire and a damage estimate were undetermined pending an investigation.

Whatcom County Fire District 7 crews assisted North Whatcom units, he said.

Birch Bay Leisure Park is an 80-acre parcel near the waterfront with 718 home sites, according to the park’s website.
