Bank in Ferndale robbed just before closing time


Police are searching for a man who robbed the Washington Federal Bank on Friday.

The incident was reported about 5:30 p.m. at 2045 Main St. in Ferndale, just before it closed at 6 p.m.

No weapon was seen.

The suspect apparently ran from the bank, according to emergency radio traffic.

He was described as white, in his late 20s, and 5 feet 6 inches tall with a thin build.

He was wearing blue pants, a gray and blue plaid shirt and gray hat.

Ferndale Police and other agencies set up a perimeter and continued to search for the suspect Friday night.

No other information was immediately released.
