BELLINGHAM - Mallard Ice Cream on 1323 Railroad Ave. will be closed for a few days while the city fixes a broken main water line.
An old line collapsed, resulting in the business closure, said Laura Ridenour, a spokeswoman for Mallard. Ridenour said they are expecting repairs to be wrapped up by Thursday, May 8, with Mallard opening as soon as possible after construction work is complete.
The collapsed pipe is preventing the business from getting running water, according to a note on the door at Mallard.
Ridenour said the road will be torn up in the alley during the repair work.

During the Railroad Avenue closure, Mallard will open its Cordata ice cream stand, which is at the Community Food Co-op at 315 Westerly Road. The ice cream stand will have a variety of cone flavors as well as its ice cream sandwiches, which include fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies.
