Are Whatcom County home rental prices improving? Here’s the latest data

Recent data from rental housing companies highlight the discrepancy of home and apartment rental costs across Whatcom County.

The average price for Bellingham rentals of all bedrooms and all property types was $2,105 on July 17, according to data from Zillow. That represents a $5 increase compared to June’s average price, and an increase of $260 compared to July 2024.

“The price range for all bedrooms and all property types is $725 to $13,270,” according to Zillow’s July 2025 data.

Bellingham’s most common rental price is $1,700 per month, according to Zillow.

“A one-bedroom apartment in Bellingham costs about $1,595 on average, while a two-bedroom apartment is $1,850,” according to real estate data company Zumper. “Houses for rent in Bellingham are more expensive, with an average monthly cost of $2,850,”

Blaine: $2,395

Ferndale: $2,295

Point Roberts: $1,900
