Job growth and the drop in the unemployment rate were the big movers in Whatcom County's economy in March, according to recent reports.
The 5.9 percent unemployment rate in March was the lowest monthly total since December 2008. According to the data, 99,370 Whatcom County residents were employed last month, up 4,170 people in the past year and the highest monthly total since March 2009.
