Whatcom County home sales were up significantly last month, up nearly 20 percent compared to March 2014, according to the most recent reports available.
Real estate may be tilting toward a seller's market, particularly in Bellingham, because of low inventory. According to Lylene Johnson of The Mujat Group, there were only 213 homes for sale in Bellingham, which is a little over a month's inventory.
Across Whatcom County, the inventory was 3.8 months, according to the Northwest Multiple Listing Service. A balanced market generally has around six months' inventory.
