The weaker Canadian dollar is impacting border crossings into Whatcom County, according to recent data from Western Washington University's Border Policy Research Institute.
The January total number of passengers traveling southbound through Whatcom County's five border crossings was 982,249, the lowest monthly total since January 2012.
The Bellingham International Airport also posted a multi-year low in terms of passengers in January.
