The number of Washington retail stores selling spirits will explode beginning in June, thanks to the voter-approved privatization of the state's liquor laws. This map gives a snapshot of license locations approved or pending with the state liquor board as of mid-May. Some of the stores with licenses have said they will not sell liquor beginning June 1, but are taking a wait-and-see approach based on customer demand.
Previous state and contract liquor stores are marked in brown, new locations in green. For details, click on a marker.
