Whatcom County and BNSF Railway will share the costs of fixing the Slater Road crossing over the railroad tracks.
The County Council on Tuesday, Aug. 9, will consider an agreement with the railroad. Through the deal, the railroad would replace the concrete road crossing, and it'll repave the approaches. The county will reimburse the company 50 percent of the costs, an estimated $50,000.
