Snow is predicted to start falling throughout Whatcom County Saturday afternoon and continue overnight, with 2 to 5 inches of accumulation possible in some lowland areas.
The National Weather Service is predicting that the most snow will fall in the eastern part of the county near the Cascade foothills.
In the North Cascades, the agency is predicting snowfall accumulation of 12 to 20 inches by Sunday morning.
The agency has issued a winter weather advisory for the county lowlands, and a winter storm warning for the foothills and the North Cascades.
