It’s that time of year when schedules are jam-packed and to-do lists are never-ending. In the midst of the holiday hustle and bustle maybe you forgot to have breakfast or hangry could be just around the corner. Fret not for you can find some solace in the infamous smoothie!
Bellingham has amazing offerings of eclectic smoothies jam-packed with nutrients that will energize and brighten your day.
Big Love Juice has two locations to choose from, the Juicery located at 1149, N. State St. and the JuiceBar nestled in Fairhaven at 1144 N. 10th St. off the interurban trail. You can order your smoothies, juices and smoothie bowls online. They will be ready and waiting for you to pick up.
Using all organic ingredients from local farms you can get a blended snack to go or choose from one of the many surf bowls. Listed below is Chair 6 (an ode to Baker!). A blended base of blueberries, acai and coconut topped with blueberries, pineapple, banana, Big Love gluten-free granola and vegan dark chocolate.
Electric Beet Juice Co.’s new location at 1422 Cornwall Ave. will be opening in about two weeks, according to Owner Kara Marklin, and the menu is bursting with smoothies, and fresh juices to choose from. Once open, if you’re in a hurry, want a smoothie and want to skip the line? No problem, by going to its website you can order your smoothie ahead of time, just pick a time you want to pick it up and it will be ready.
If you see a smoothie you want to try but want to add a little something extra they have everything from cold-pressed ginger (anti-inflammatory and great for your immune system) to hemp protein powder and daily greens. The amazing part about a smoothie is if you add greens to a smoothie base, you can’t taste them.
If you want to slow down a bit and eat your smoothie with a spoon for $2 more you can get any of the smoothies in a bowl topped with seeds and fruit.
Both Electric Beet Co. and Big Love Juice are environmentally friendly with their packaging so you don’t need to feel bad using a take-out cup.
Make your day a little bit smoother with a local smoothie. No one likes a hangry driver or shopper.
