Sugar Plums

Judy Meixner of Nooksack shared this recipe, which is supposed to be the one mentioned in the book "The Night Before Christmas." She says she's been making it for more than 10 years and it "tastes like Christmas!" It also keeps in the fridge for a month.

SUGAR PLUMS

Ingredients

2 cups whole almonds, toasted and chopped

1/4 cup honey

2 teaspoons orange zest (grated peel)

11/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground allspice

1/2 teaspoon fresh grated nutmeg

1 cup finely chopped dried apricots

1 cup finely chopped dates

Directions

Chop ingredients in a food processor and mix together.

Roll into balls.

Refrigerate in single layers.
