New, used book sales support literacy efforts in Whatcom County

Several new and used book sales are featured in December, most of them sponsored by nonprofit library organizations.

These volunteer groups foster community support for their local libraries, raising money to fill city and county funding gaps, sponsoring educational and enrichment programs, and encouraging literacy.

Their used book sales feature low-priced fiction and nonfiction selections in various genres for readers of all ages. Good used books make great stocking stuffers and are an inexpensive way to build your home book collection.
