Violet was born October 31, 1920 in Olmitz, Iowa. She and first husband Irving Carlson were Certified Seed Potato farmers for 43 years in Lynden. After Irving's death, she married Fred Evans and spent many years traveling the United States and abroad. Currently, she is living at Lynden Manor Retirement Home in Lynden. She is a member of Clearbrook Lutheran Church. Her children are Bud (deceased), daughter-in-law Carmen of the Philippine Islands, Diane (Ken) Fruin of Abbotsford, BC, Lynn (Judy) Carlson of Bellingham. She has 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Violet attributes her longevity to a good bloodline.A celebration of Violet's birthday will be held at the Lynn Carlson home today, October 31st, for family and friends.
