Megan Cartwright and Benjamin Joseph were married on May 15, 2010 at the Lairmont Manor in Bellingham, WA. Megan, daughter of Dana and Diana Cartwright, attended Mt. Baker High School. She graduated from the University of Washington earning degrees in physics and astronomy. She finished her doctorate in space plasma physics at UCLA in early 2009. She is a researcher at UC Berkeley studying the physics of magnetic reconnection. Benjamin, son of Pamela Joseph, went to Mercer Island High School. He graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in aerospace and aeronautical engineering. He did his graduate work at MIT, earning a masters in aerospace engineering. He currently works as an engineer at a start-up in Silicon Valley. The couple met at a coffee shop in Seattle when they both attended UW. After dating for three years, Benjamin proposed to Megan while on vacation in Sonoma at the Chateau St. Jean winery. A year later they married in the gardens at the Lairmont Manor surrounded by their family and friends. The ceremony was followed by a candlelit dinner under a white tent and dancing to live jazz. The wedding celebrated the couples favorite things; their love for each other, their family, and their passion for the exploration of space. The newlyweds then jetted off for two weeks of surfing and mango margaritas while relaxing on the islands of Maui and Kauai. The couple currently reside in the San Francisco Bay Area where they enjoy hiking, cycling, and traveling.
