In 1959, a U.S. postage stamp cost $.04 and a gallon of gas was $.25. Doris Day and Frank Sinatra kept the airwaves hopping while Barbie made her debut.
1959 was also the year that on the 6th of June, an ambitious, articulate businessman named Del Needham and a smart, savvy young lady named Sandy Crim embarked on a new life together as husband and wife. Del, a self made man, first became a business owner in 1958 with "The Toggery Men's Apparel". In the coming years, he would open other specialty stores such as "The King's Closet" and "The Circus Shoppe".
Del and Sandy opened "The Formal House" tuxedo rental store in 1974 and that became the family business. In 1981, they added "Alicia's Bridal Shoppe” to complete their vision of beautiful wedding attire for the entire bridal party. Sandy was the creative mastermind behind Alicia's success. In recent years, they have expanded to add "Alicia's Bridal Outlet" which Sandy still runs and operates. Both Del and Sandy are semi-retired (or, as Sandy prefers, semi-active) in the family business. Sandy also enjoys her activities in the Master Gardeners, which she has been a part of for several years. They have four children. All are married and live within 100 miles of home with their families. They also have nine grandchildren who they love to spend time with and spoil.
Mom and Dad,Your children and grandchildren wish to express both pride and gratitude. Our successes are a reflection of your selflessness and willingness to give everything in order to create a happy life for us. You have succeeded! We Love You & Happy Anniversary!
