Mary Johnson celebrated her 90th birthday with family and friends at her home in Bellingham. She was born January 27, 1919 in Tacoma, Wa., to Harry and Nellie Sheerer. The family moved to Bellingham in 1922. For awhile she worked with her father who owned and operated Barker's Bakery until 1940. She married Dale Ploghoft in 1941. They were later divorced. In 1970 she married John Johnson; he passed away in 1999. She worked at Newberry's for several years. Later on working at J.C. Penney's. She loves all card games and watching the Mariners on TV. She has a daughter Karen Levin and a son Larry Ploghoft. Also 3 stepsons Jerry, Jim and Alan and several granchildren and great-grandchildren.
