Vincent and Phyllis Davis celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with their family and friends at Mykonos Greek Restaurant.They were married at the First Christian Church in Longview, Washington, on Sept. 4, 1943, and have lived in Bellingham since 1951.Vince was the only Orthodontist in three counties when he first came to Bellingham and enjoyed his practice for 50 1/2 years before he retired. He started the Boy Scout Museum up at the Boy Scout Camp at Silver Lake, was on the Lighthouse Mission board for many years and involved in other good works for our community.Phyllis had a real gift of hospitality and opened their home to many groups of people.She also spent time working with children in many ways. She was a Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, P.T.A. president at Lowell School twice and in charge of the Little People's Program at The Firs for many years.They had three sons: Vincent Jr., Stephen and Craig. They were also blessed to have had six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.They say their marriage has been successful because they have daily walked with the Lord and made Jesus Christ the center of their lives.
