Christine Anne Funk and Levi Nicholis Markowski were married barefoot on the sands of Makena Surf Beach in Kihei, Maui at sunset on October 21, 2007. Surrounded by the sounds of live ukulele music and crashing waves, the bride and groom dedicated their new life together through the exchange of traditional Hawaiian leis and matching wedding bands. Reverend Alapaki Terry officiated the ceremony while a small group of friends and family watched the blessed event. A larger reception was held on November third, 2007 at Squalicum Boathouse at Zuanich Point Park in Bellingham. The couple graduated from Western Washington University. Christine received her Master in Teaching and Biology undergraduate degrees; and Levi received his Anthropology and Recreation undergraduate degrees. Presently, the newlyweds reside in Bellingham.
