Stew and Bev Thomas celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends January 20th at the Skagit Golf & Country Club.
They were married in Hillsboro, Oregon, January 17th, 1958 and moved to Burlington in 1965. Stew worked for Terminal Ice and Cold Storage until 1974 when he bought Agrichem Fertilizer. In 1986 Stew became President of Bellingham Cold Storage, then Chairman in 1998 until retirement in 2006. Bev worked for Concrete Nor'West from 1974 until 1993.
Lake Samish has been their home since 1986. Much time is spent attending events of their grandchildren. They enjoy world travel and motor home trips. Stew and Bev took twenty family members on a cruise to Mexico over Thanksgiving break.
Children include Kevin (Kerry) Thomas of Bow, Mark (Gretchen) Thomas of Burlington, Doug (Sandy) Thomas of Bellingham and Kim (Mike) Gauthier of Burlington and nine grandchildren: Kyle, Amy, Keith, Ryan, Brianna, Anthony, Ashley, Brittany and Lauren.
