“Death Becomes Her: Mourning Fashions” opens Saturday, Jan. 17, at the newly remodeled Skagit County Historical Museum, which focuses on the area’s historical and cultural heritage. The exhibit features mourning items from the museum’s collection, including clothing, buttons and hair art.
As part of the exhibit, a special program from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, features the “Customs, Costumes and Buttons of Mourning” with noted button collector and quilter Dorothy Krugner.
Skagit County Historical Museum is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday. Admission is $5 adults, $10 families, $4 seniors over 65 and children ages 6-12. Museum members and children under 6 admitted free. For more information, call 360-466-3365 or go online to skagitcounty.net/museum.
