Bellingham library offers basic sign language with infants

People can learn a few basic American Sign Language words to communicate with their infant at a Baby Signing Time from 11:15 to 11:45 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, in the Skillshare area, across from the self-checkout stands at Bellingham Public Library, 210 Central Ave.

Signs for such words as “milk,” “eat,” and “more” can ease parental frustration and help the child’s development of language and cognitive skills.
