New movies shown free at Bellingham library

With schools on holiday break, the Bellingham Public Library is offering several new films free in the next week in the Lecture Room downstairs, across from the children’s library at 210 Central Ave.

All of the movies are rated PG, but — because of legal restrictions — the library can’t publish the film’s name or give more than a general description to the media. Call 360-778-7200 for more information.

It’s OK for patrons to bring small snacks for the movie, but they are asked to clean up after themselves. Here are the scheduled movies:

2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29: A computer-animated adventure featuring a smart dog and a geeky boy, based on the cartoons from the “Rocky and Bullwinkle Show.”

2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30: A computer-animated fantasy, based on a book series about kids named Hiccup and Astrid and their flying reptilian friend Toothless.

2 p.m. Friday, Jan.2: A live-action retelling of the “Sleeping Beauty” legend from an unusual point of view.
