Bellingham Mother’s Day brunches, sailings, kayak adventures and more

Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 11, and if you haven’t set reservations at a restaurant or made plans yet, we’ve got you covered!

Many Bellingham restaurants and eateries are staying open on Mother’s Day to offer special meals to celebrate mothers, but reservations are slim. Here are a few spots to check out:

Mother’s Day four-course brunch at Hotel Bellwether: Costs $85 for adults and $35 for children. Includes dishes such as pastries, salad, fruit, smoked salmon toast, fried chicken and French toast, prawn scampi buccatini, chocolate torte, pie and gelato from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Reservations must be made online in advance. Hotel Bellwether is at 1 Bellwether Way.

Mother’s Day brunch buffet at Chuckanut Distillery: Costs $60 for adults and $30 for children. Includes a complimentary “momosa” mimosa for mothers, and a buffet with salads, quiches, potato hash, premium strip loin, pasties and bagels, eggs and sausages from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Reservations are required and can be made online in advance. Chuckanut Distillery is at 1311 Cornwall Ave.

Mother’s Day brunch at Hotel Leo: The restaurant will have a special Mother’s Day menu, as well as live music by Tenderpile’s De Dream. Hotel Leo is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and reservations are recommended. Hotel Leo is at 1224 Cornwall Ave.

Special Mother’s Day meal at B-Town Kitchen and Raw Bar: This five-course meal costs $52 for adults and $48 for kids and includes sundried tomato and brie quiche, salad, arancini, roasted salmon or chicken and macaroons and truffles for dessert. Reservations are encouraged and can be made by calling 360-392-6520. B-Town Kitchen and Raw Bar is at 714 Lakeway Dr.

Mother’s Day Brunch at Boundary Bay Brewery: The brewery and restaurant will be serving a special Mother’s Day menu from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for all ages. Reservations are encouraged and can be made online. Boundary Bay Brewery is at 1107 Railroad Ave.

Mother’s Day Brunch on the Bay Sail: Enjoy a meal on the Zodiac, a 1920s sailing yacht. The three-hour sail includes a full brunch and the chance to assist the crew and even steer the ship. The experience costs $79 for adults and $59 for children. The ship boards at 9:45 a.m. and is set back at the Bellingham Cruise Terminal at 1 p.m. Reservations are required and can be made online. The Bellingham Cruise Terminal is at 355 Harris Ave.

Mother’s Day On The Bay: A self-guided kayak experience by the Bellingham Bay Community Boating Center will run from 2-4 p.m. for all levels of experienced paddlers. Kayak rentals are free for mothers and cost $30 per person for the two-hour session. Reservations are encouraged and can be made online. The Community Boating Center is at 555 Harris Ave.

Beach Cleanup for Mother’s Day: RE Sources, a nonprofit environmental protection organization, is hosting a beach cleanup from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Mother’s Day at the Maritime Heritage Center. The event is free and includes supplies and refreshments for volunteers. Participants must register online in advance. The Maritime Heritage Center is at 1600 C St.
