Music: Scat-singer Greta Matassa at The Majestic June 10

Seattle vocalist and Earshot Jazz Hall of Fame inductee Greta Matassa returns to Bellingham to perform in the Whatcom Jazz Music Arts Center series at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, at The Majestic, 1027 N. Forest St.

Full of energy and wit, Matassa is a stunning improviser and scat-singer. She will perform with pianist Miles Black, bass player Michael Glynn and drummer Julian MacDonough, one of the Northwest’s most in-demand rhythm sections.

Matassa has been on the faculty at Jazz Camp West, The Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival, and the Drayton Harbor Jazz Festival in Blaine.
