Ledesma was born into a family of 16 brothers and sisters. “Migrant Sun” is a collection of intimate tales of a Mexican-American family’s struggle for survival as field workers in the Northwest during the 1940s and ’50s.

Ledesma worked as a mental health therapist before turning his energies to writing. His previous works are “Tomás and the Magic Race Cars,” a children’s book, and “Migrant Earth,” an autobiographical work of fiction.
