Toronto folk quintet The Great Lake Swimmers play at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at the Green Frog, 1015 N. State St.
The group released their sixth album, “A Forest of Arms,” on April 21. It was recorded in several off-the-beaten-path locations (including a bat cave), with strong nature themes inspired by singer/songwriter Tony Dekker’s time with the World Wildlife Fund.
Great Lake Swimmers consists of Dekker on lead vocals and guitar, Erik Arnesen on guitarist and banjo, Miranda Mulholland on violin and backing vocals, Bret Higgins on upright bass, and newcomer Joshua Van Tassel on drums.
Cover is $13 advance, $15 day of show. The Weather Station opens. Details: acoustictavern.com.
