MUSIC: Traditional folk-fusion-bilingual trio performs May 29 at McIntyre Hall

From Prince Edward Island, Canada, Jesse Périard and brothers Rowen Gallant and Caleb Gallant are the fiddle-guitar-percussion trio Ten Strings and a Goat Skin. Their debut album, “Tri,” earned them the Roots Traditional Recording of the Year Award at the 2012 Music PEI Awards.

They perform at 7:30 p.m Friday, May 29, at Skagit Valley College’s McIntyre Hall Performing Arts Center, 2501 E. College Way, in Mount Vernon.

The ensemble has harnessed an Acadian traditional spirit, playing everything from French to Irish to even Gypsy music. Tickets are $20 at 360-416-7727 and mcintyrehall.org.
