The Koma Kulshan Chapter of the Washington Native Plant Society hosts a free walk from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 28, led by anthropologist Allan Richardson, co-author of “Nooksack Place Names.”
Participants should meet at the Environmental Learning Center, just east of Whatcom Creek, on West Holly Street at Maritime Heritage Park. The walk will follow the native-plant teaching trail in the park along the creek, where people can learn about the plants, their names, and their uses in native Salish tradition.
