Rose's Pawn Shop plays at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at the Green Frog, 1015 N. State St.
It might come as a surprise to hear the strains of Appalachian and Americana music channeled through five guys from Los Angeles, but heartache, loss and regret have always been the cornerstones of great music. With an arsenal of guitars, banjo, thumping upright bass, fiddle and drums delivering neoclassic-sounding melodies and lyrics, the band confronts traditional country music themes of loss, lamentation and redemption, with a couple of drinking songs for good measure.
Cover is $10. More on the band: rosespawnshop.com.
