Fairhaven’s annual celebration of its “unscrubbed” community founder, Dirty Dan Harris, runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at Fairhaven Village Green, 10th Street and Mill Avenue.
Festivities include such family-fun events as a salmon toss for adults and kids, a doughnut-hole eating contest, and Dirty Dan look-a-like and 1800s dress contests. Come in costume or come as you are, the festival is free for all.
The festival’s uphill piano race begins at noon on Harris Avenue, and the Dirty Dan Sidewalk Saloon is open noon to 6 p.m. on 10th Street by the Village Green.
The festival’s new Chuckanut Chili Cook-Off takes place from 2 to 4 p.m. Tickets to sample chili are $10, which covers a taste of each chili, a bowl of your favorite, and a roll from Avenue Bread.
