Seattle’s Zakuska (with one Bellinghamster) will perform in Bellingham for the first time, playing and singing traditional dance tunes from such places as Bulgaria, Macedonia, Serbia, Romania, Albania, Turkey, Croatia, Greece, Israel and Hungary, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at Fairhaven Library, 1117 12th St.
The group’s focus is on vocal music with instrumental accompaniments. They play traditional instruments, as well as some that are more modern, including gadulka, kaval, tambura, bugaria, dumbek, tupan, clarinet, accordion, zils, violin, and electric bass.
The dance is hosted by Fourth Corner Folk Dancers. Suggested donation: $15. Details: 360-380-0456.
