MUSIC: Los Lobos plays the Lincoln Theatre in benefit concert

Initially best known for their hit remake of Richie Valens’ “La Bamba,” the East Los Angeles band Los Lobos has gone on to a venerable, three-decade career incorporating traditional Mexican music with a stylish, rock ’n’ roll edge.

The band plays at 7:30 p.m Wednesday, March 18, at Lincoln Theatre, 712 S. First St., Mount Vernon, in a benefit for the Rick Epting Foundation. The foundation supports organizations, scholarships and nonprofit groups to encourage live performance shows and to support community artists.

Los Lobos is currently touring to support their latest album, “Tin Can Trust.”

Tickets, $29.50 to $49.50, are at lincolntheatre.org, rickeptingfoundation.org and 360-336-8955.
