The Fabulous Party Boys will celebrate the release of their new CD at 9:30 p.m. Friday, March 6, at the Wild Buffalo, 208 W. Holly St.

The seven-piece funk band originated in Bellingham, with the founding members playing tunes while still in high school. With electric tuba as the bass, from jam sessions at Rumors to Boundary Bay fish fries, college house parties to Downtown Sounds, the Fabulous Party Boys have been active members in the Bellingham music scene since before they were of legal drinking age.

Band members from Bellingham are Marshall Petryni on drums, Jon Hansen on tuba and Scott Macpherson on saxophones and flute. The other members — singer Tazlyn Gue, keyboardist Elliot Gray, trumpeter Ray Larsen and guitarist Andy Short — rounded out the group after it reformed in Seattle.

The album, their first with the current lineup, was officially released Feb. 13t at the Tractor Tavern in Seattle.
