Theater: Provocative play about betrayal of Jesus staged at Skagit Valley College

Skagit Valley College’s drama department presents Stephen Adly Guirgis’ “The Last Days of Judas Iscariot” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 19-21, and Feb. 26-28, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22 and March 1 at the college’s McIntyre Hall, 2405 E. College Way, Mount Vernon.

Directed by drama department chair Damond Morris, “The Last Days of Judas Iscariot” is a courtroom drama set in purgatory, pitting The Kingdom of Heaven versus Judas Iscariot.

The play asks provocative questions about divine mercy and the role of free will, examining the betrayal of Jesus in a modern twist. Due to strong and street language, the play is intended for mature audiences.

Admission: $5. Details: 866-624-6897, McIntyreHall.org
