Music: Folk Stomp Americana comes to Lincoln Theatre on Feb. 20

Wild Rabbit, The Blackberry Bushes and Renegade Stringband perform an evening of folk-stomp Americana at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at Lincoln Theatre, 712 S. First St., Mount Vernon.

Wild Rabbit revamps classic string band instrumentation with homespun percussion and the unique integration of six-string ukulele and cello. Voted best band in their home city of Bellingham for the past two years, they have quickly risen to local notoriety and now tour extensively throughout the United States.

The Blackberry Bushes — Jes Raymond, Jakob Breitbach, Daniel Ullom and Forrest Marowitz — draw from the roots of American traditional music to create music with both twang and sophistication.

Renegade Stringband plays hard-driving bluegrass from their repertoire that runs from original ballads to covers of songs by the Black Keys, Woody Guthrie, Tom Waits, and Ella Fitzgerald.

Tickets are $16 adults, $14 seniors and students, and $12 for children 12 and under, with $2 off for Lincoln members. Details: 360-336-8955, lincolntheatre.org.
