Music: Stray Birds trio perform with Cahalen Morrison and Eli West at Green Frog

The Stray Birds bring their CD release tour to Bellingham at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Green Frog, 1015 N. State St., in a joint concert with Cahalen Morrison and Eli West.

The Stray Birds — Maya de Vitry on vocals, guitar, banjo and fiddle; Oliver Craven on vocals, guitar, resonator and fiddle; and Charles Muench on vocals and bass — made their Yep Roc Records label debut last October with the release of their second full-length studio album, “Best Medicine.” Following the band’s 2012 self-titled release, which NPR Music named a Top 10 Folk/Americana album, “Best Medicine” was recorded at Stonebridge Studios in Virginia.

Formed in Lancaster, Penn., the classically trained and roots music-raised trio has spent the past several years honing their sound and touring extensively, including live performances on NPR’s Mountain Stage, and at the Philadelphia Folk Festival, Kerrville Folk Festival and the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival.

Cover is $10. More on the band: thestraybirds.com.
