Skagit Symphony presents family concert at McIntyre Hall in Mount Vernon

For a family treat, the 45-minute program presented by Skagit Symphony at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, at Skagit Valley College’s McIntyre Performing Arts Center, 2501 E. College Way, Mount Vernon, brings favorite movements from the classical repertoire to those new to the musical genre.

The program includes Eric Coates’ “Covent Garden,” Johannes Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No. 5, Georges Bizet’s “Jeux d’Enfants: Le Bal,” Franz Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 54: Minuet/Trio, selections from Howard Shore’s “Lord of the Rings,” selections from George Gershwin’s “An American in Paris,” and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s “Trepak.”

The concert includes introductory comments from music director Roupen Shakarian.
