Smith & Vallee Gallery, 5742 Gilkey Ave., in Edison, hosts its seventh annual installation of “Objectification,” a large-group invitational show focusing on functional and three-dimensional artwork.
This year, the exhibit showcases accessible and practical forms of art: ceramics, textiles, haberdashery, housewares and furniture, as well as beautiful art objects and sculptures. The show features more than 20 regional and local artists, many of whom are showing with Smith & Vallee for the first time. Participating artists include Karen Hackenberg, Inge Roberts and Angela Cook.
In deference to the holiday season, purchased items are available to take home immediately, so it’s a wonderful opportunity to give beautiful artwork to loved ones.
The show runs through Dec. 28. Gallery holiday hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24; closed Thursday, Dec. 25; noon to 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26; 11 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 27-28; and closed Thursday, Jan. 1. Details: 360-766-6230, smithandvallee.com.
