Cousins Arto and Antti Järvelä are musicians who hail from Finland and a long line of fiddlers. Growing up in a musical family means they grew up with respect for traditions and history.
Arto’s and Antti’s musical focus is in Ostrobothnia (the eastern shore of the Gulf of Bothnia). Dance and ceremonial tunes are still a major part of their music. While international travel and jamming have influenced their music, one can still hear the connection to their roots.
They will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, at Nancy’s Farm, 2030 E. Smith Road. Suggested donation: $15. Details: nancysfarm.com, 360-966-4640.
