The Bellingham Chamber Chorale, under artistic director Ryan Smit, presents a “Ceremony of Carols” concert, themed “Heading East,” at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at First Congregational Church, 2401 Cornwall Ave.
The chorale will start its “Ceremony of Carols” in the United States with the inspired work of Conrad Susa, and then travel to the United Kingdom and the timeless Benjamin Britten. Works on the program are Susa’s “Carols and Lullabies: Christmas in the Southwest” and Britten’s “A Ceremony of Carols.” Susa, who died in November 2013, wrote the piece as a companion to Britten’s composition.
Tickets are $20 general, $15 seniors, $8 students, and $5 for those 17 and younger, at Brown Paper Tickets, Village Books, both Community Food Co-op locations, Piper Music, and Time Keepers in Lynden. Details: 360-734-3720, bccsings.org.
