Lynden Performing Arts Guild presents “A Christmas Story: The Musical,” Friday, Nov. 28, through Dec. 14 at Claire vg Thomas Theatre in Dutch Village Mall, 655 Front St., Lynden.
The play is a musical version of the classic movie of the same name, with hilarious song-and-dance numbers. All of the elements that people have found endearing about the movie are in the show – the leg lamp, the obnoxious elves and inebriated Santa, the Red Ryder BB gun (with the repeated warning “You’ll shoot your eye out!”), the tongue stuck to the frozen flagpole, and Christmas dinner at a Chinese restaurant.
The cast features Daniel Jardinski as Ralphie; John Gonzales as his father; Stephanie Blankers as his mother; Noah French as his kid brother, Randy; Katie Pease as his teacher, Miss Shields; and Kit Vonnegut as the narrator, Jean Shepherd.
Tickets are $12 adults, $10 students and seniors, $8 children. Reservations: 360-354-4425.
