Virginia’s Steel Wheels play acoustic Americana roots music at Green Frog

The Steel Wheels perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, the Green Frog, 1015 N. State St. The Steel Wheels of Virginia are renowned for their raw energy and chemistry on stage, where they cluster tightly around a single microphone to adorn Trent Wagler’s tenor voice with four-part harmonies complemented by Eric Brubaker on fiddle, Brian Dickel on upright bass and Jay Lapp on mandolin and guitars.

They selling out venues coast to coast and appearing at many top festivals in the U.S. and Canada, including the Ann Arbor Folk Festival, the Moab Folk Festival and the Kerrville Folk Festival.

The band also organizes and performs the SpokeSongs bicycle music tour, when they tow their instruments, equipment and merchandise from show to show by bicycle. Past tours have lasted up to 11 days, 600 miles and 10 shows. The attention from SpokeSongs tours enables the band to raise extra money and awareness for charities and causes along the way.
